Dear Parents
I am sorry to inform you that Eirlys Patchett, one of our Chemistry Teachers, died last night. Eirlys had a fall on Sunday afternoon and was rushed into Intensive Care, where they treated her for swelling on the brain. We understood from reports from the hospital that they expected her to recover without any complications. However, yesterday her condition sadly deteriorated and her heart was unable to cope. Having spoken to her husband Colin this morning the doctors now believe that her fall was caused by an unknown heart condition. Eirlys had been teaching at Lymm since 1986. She was an excellent teacher and will be greatly missed, equally by staff and students. The family have asked for any donations to be sent to the Wales Air Ambulance organisation. Details to follow.
